Kick-off for the new research project Flex Ladle Heat

New steps towards Hashtagnetzero at HashtagBadische!

On July 2nd, a new research project was officially launched by Badische Stahlwerke GmbH, RWTH Aachen University and Badische Stahl-Engineering . The aim: to develop an innovative burner technology that enables the flexible use of Hashtaghydrogen and ammonia. Given that natural gas will not be easily substituted in the foreseeable future, this project will enable HashtagBadische to reduce its very low CO2 emissions even further. By doing this, we will get our steel production closer to our ultimate goal of becoming Hashtagcarbonneutral by 2045.

It is a great honor for us that the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz, with the coordination of Projektträger Jülich (PtJ), is supporting our project with an additional €2.3 million in funding.

On the picture you see from left to right: Andreas Volkert (Managing Director BSW), Sebastian Baumgartner (Managing Director BSE), Christian Wuppermann (Head of Institut, RWTH Aachen), Florian Glück (Managing Director BSW) und Matthias Breithaupt (Head of Steel Plant BSW).

We are looking forward to bring in Dr. Felix Firsbach and Ralf Schweikle among others as key players in this project and advance HashtagBadische technology even more towards Hashtaggreensteel.
